QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS
HOW CAN IROCK HELP ME?
When you attend an IROCK appointment you will be given an initial session of up to an hour where you can discuss how you are feeling in a safe, relaxed and informal environment.
There are lots of different people at IROCK with knowledge and resources to help with mental health worries, housing issues, employment, studying concerns or anything else that may be on your mind.
IROCK is primarily a signposting service - this means that one of our team members will work to refer you on to the most appropriate support service and in some cases, you may be invited back for some follow up sessions.
Follow up sessions are most often with one of our Peer Support workers, these are people who in addition to being trained in mental health support, have their own lived experience of recovery from emotional distress and will use this to inspire and help you further.
HOW CAN I ARRANGE AN IROCK APPOINTMENT?
If you would like to book a face to face appointment at Hastings, Newhaven or Eastbourne please email: irockeastsussex@spft.nhs.uk and we will do our best to book you in for the earliest possible date.
WHAT IS THE VIRTUAL DROP-IN?
The virtual drop-in is an online service where you can just pop in to IROCK without an appointment, it is powered by the NHS Attend Anywhere platform which means it is a secure and encrypted way to chat with an IROCK team member about anything which may be on your mind.
Attend Anywhere is a video calling platform but having the camera on is optional and if you do not feel comfortable speaking you can always use the text box option.
Our virtual drop-in is available Monday-Friday 11am-5:45pm and can be accessed via the 'Chat to us live weekdays' button on our website.
IS IROCK CONFIDENTIAL?
Anything you say to a team member at IROCK will be kept in the strictest confidence, however like all services, we would have a legal obligation to inform other agencies if we strongly believed you were a serious risk of harm to yourself or others.
CAN SOMEBODY COME WITH ME TO MY APPOINTMENT?
Yes. Some people like to come to their IROCK meetings with a parent, friend or teacher and others prefer to chat with us on their own. It is entirely up to you.
WHO RUNS IROCK?
IROCK is commissioned and co-ordinated by Sussex Partnership NHS Trust.
